Leadership Development


Leaders in today’s health care institutions have a complex challenge: interpret and address rapidly evolving patient expectations, manage growth, and create a work culture that allows them to attract and retain high-performing staff.

 

HEALTHBY creates leadership development and education programs for executives, clinical leaders, and key operational staff. These programs are typically offered as part of a larger-scope collaboration with a specific institution, and are customized to address the institution’s current and future challenges.

 

Programs are delivered by a multidisciplinary team according to subject matter. Faculty from Leading EU Universities and its affiliated teaching hospitals, as well as senior clinical and operational leaders from Partners HealthCare System, serve as mentors, discussion leaders, and guides during the programs.

 

We aim to deliver transformative experiences that enable the participants to translate what they learn into strategies and action plans. The following are a few examples of challenges we have helped to address through these programs:

 

  • Hospital network integration: Helping to create a collaborative working team comprised of executives and function leaders from different and geographically distant hospitals within the same system
  • Health care management training: Providing physicians without significant managerial experience with best practices and tools to aid in performance management, team-building, and day-to-day operations
  • Executive team building: Working closely with senior staff of new hospitals to identify the right attributes for new senior position hires, and devise a strategy for recruitment, vetting, and orientation
  • Domain-specific educational programs and tours: Facilitating close observation of specific departments and functions within a center of excellence, and interactions with domain leaders
